Social Programme

The opening ceremony will be held at 18 00 on Sunday 17 February 2011 in the CTICC. This is open to all delegates and accompanying persons with seating on a first come first serve basis.

Although there will be several speeches, the objective will be to entertain our delegates and visitors. We will showcase South African talent and highlight the vibrant multicultural character of our city and our country

The ceremony will be opened by the Minister of Health Aaron Motsoaledi and will feature an address by the Patron of the 6th World Congress, Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu.

Welcome Reception - 17th February 2013

A welcome reception will take place at the CTICC immediately after the Opening Ceremony. A variety of snacks will be served to suit all tastes and alcohol free beverages and a selection of South African wines provided.

This reception will also be accompanied by numerous musical events and other entertainment. It is hosted by the World Congress with admission open to delegates and all accompanying persons (excluding children under 18 years of age).

The Welcome reception will also mark the grand opening of the Trade Exhibition and will take place within the confines and surrounding area of the exhibition area.

UNDER THE AFRICAN SKIES - 20th February 2013

A picnic and concert will be held in the beautiful Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain. This will commence at 18 00 on Wednesday 20 February with delegates transported to the event by coach earlier in the afternoon.

With an emphasis on informal and entertainment, the concert will feature performances from a variety of South African artists.

This event is not included in the registration fee but is open to all registered delegates, exhibitors, accompanying persons, family members and of course to children. The cost is R500.00 per person and bookings can be made upon registration.
